 Đài VOA (Voice of America) chuẩn bị hợp tác với VOA của CSVN

(VOA to partner with Communist Vietnam radio)


Xin thông báo khẩn VOA phần Việt Ngữ sẽ cộng tác (Parnertship) với đài Tiếng Nói Việt Nam (Voice of Vietnam: VOV - của cộng sản Việt Nam) để phát thanh lại chương trình đặc biệt bằng Việt ngữ của đài VOA 15 phút mỗi ngày.

Nhà cầm quyền cộng sản sẽ chọn những bài thích hợp để phát thanh và có quyền từ chối không cho phát thanh những bài không phù hợp với ý của nhà cầm quyền cộng sản Việt Nam.

Đây là một vi phạm trắng trợn hiến chương và điều lệ của VOA và luật lệ của Hoa Kỳ… Chúng tôi đã phản đối sự việc này tới một số các vị dân cử liên bang thuộc Quốc Hội, cũng như các viên chức liên hệ tại bộ Ngoại Giao Hoa Kỳ.

Xin Qúy Vị, nhất là giới truyền thông, báo chí trong và ngoài nước tiếp tay lên tiếng phản đối..

It appears that VOA is about to form a partnership with Communist Vietnam's state radio.

This is another reason why the Vietnamese service has been forbidden to post translations of our editorials on the service web page.

" VOA Vietnamese section is going to form a partnership with the Vietnam's State Radio. This is clearly violate the VOA charter which clearly stated :

To protect the integrity of VOA programming and define the organization’s mission, the VOA Charter was drafted in 1960 and later signed into law onJuly 12, 1976, by President Gerald Ford. It reads:

The long-range interests of the United States are served by communicating directly with the peoples of the world by radio. To be effective, the Voice of America must win the attention and respect of listeners. These principles will therefore govern Voice of America (VOA) broadcasts:

1. VOA will serve as a consistently reliable and authoritative source of news. VOA news will be accurate, objective, and comprehensive.

2. VOA will represent America, not any single segment of American society, and will therefore present a balanced and comprehensive projection of significant American thought and institutions.

3. VOA will present the policies of the United States clearly and effectively, and will also present responsible discussions and opinion on these policies. (Public Law 94-350)"

I would like to have an appointment with Congressman Connolly to discuss this important issue.
